My Start
My entry into pottery was by happenstance. I was in college and needed an art class so I decided I would explore the world of pottery. It had always intrigued me and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finally 'get my hands dirty'!  After only a few classes I was completely hooked.  After taking many years of classes as only a hobby, I reached a point where I was finally able to devote myself full time to pottery and have never doubted the decision.  Pottery goes back to early man and will continue far into the future, always changing and evolving.  Mud will always be joined with water and fire to make an item of wonder.

Creation Process
I work out of my home studio.  It is here that I create, glazed and fire my work. I have a outdoor area for throwing and hand-building and a separate area for glazing.  I create and mix my own glazes so each one is unique and custom.  Each glaze is food safe and can withstand heat of 2350 degrees.  My pieces may be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.  I store my greenware and bisque ware in my kiln room.  My kiln is a gas fired kiln taking approximately 10 hours to fire and then 15+ hours to cool down enough to open.  Kiln openings are full of excitement and apprehension........will everything be just as imagined and anticipated or better?
